Window by Window Retail Partnerships

Every year, over 1 billion birds are killed in the U.S. by window collisions. Window by Window is our program dedicated to change that. Whether the glass belongs to a home, business, school, or place of worship. Any building with windows can become safer for birds.

The program combines education, partnerships, and advocacy to drive meaningful change:

• Education – We deliver presentations and resources to help communities understand the causes of collisions and the solutions that work.

• Retail Partnerships – We work with local retailers to make science-backed window treatments accessible to the public.

• School Partnerships – We support schools in monitoring for collisions, educating students, and treating windows to save birds.

• Worship Partnerships – We help faith communities take action by making their buildings safer for birds.

• Advocacy & Citizen Science – We engage volunteers in collecting data to build the case for action and ensure solutions are targeted where they will save the most birds.

Together, these efforts build momentum—from the neighborhood level to the policy level—to make bird-safe windows the norm.

We collaborate with local stores to feature science-backed window treatments, making it easier for communities to choose solutions that keep birds safe.
