This photo illustrates the cause of the collisions. Birds perceive the reflected trees as real and attempt to fly toward them. The ABC Tape pattern breaks up those reflections into smaller sections, signaling that the space is not passable.

Karen’s home sits in a rural setting and began experiencing multiple bird collisions this spring, including two at the same time. That moment prompted her to take action.
She focused on the area causing the most strikes, a patio door. To address the issue, she applied American Bird Conservancy Bird Tape 2” squares (white) across the entire surface, using the included ruler guide, which she said made spacing the pattern really easy.
She said the installation was easy and didn’t take much time, and noted that the adhesive squares removed cleanly when needed.
Since the retrofit, collisions dropped to zero immediately.
